Herbal eye mask therapy

Herbal Eye Mask involves mixing cooling herbs with clean water and applying the mixture to the eyelids and various parts of the body to reduce inflammation and heat. Popular herbs used for relief include Andrographis powder, wormwood (Ba-ra-ped) and Centella Asiatica (Gotu Kola), which are cooling, bitter herbs. These are mixed with water to form a thick paste, not too runny. The prepared mixture is then applied to gauze or cotton pads and placed over the eyelids while keeping the eyes closed for 15-20 minutes. The cooling properties of the herbs help absorb heat and draw out retained warmth around the eyes, providing relief. This treatment
alleviates symptoms such as eye strain, eye pain, or Asthenopia (a condition where the eyes become fatigued after prolonged use or extended periods of visual strain). The therapy enhances eye function and comfort. Additionally, before or after the paste, acupressure may be applied to the eyebrow area, along the hairline, the forehead, and the temples to stimulate circulation, relax muscles, and create a sense of relief and openness.
